KAYLA BARKER FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

My name is Kayla Barker and I am an award-winning and published film photographer and educator based in Midland, Texas that has traveled around the world for my commissioned wedding, portrait and commercial work. I use film cameras, old and new as my medium to create timeless images. With a degree and background in graphic design, I use a curated and artful approach to create light-filled, impressionistic images that evoke a sense of emotion, movement and beauty.

I am not just a photographer of pretty photographs, but a preserver of your love and relationships. My goal is to empower women to feel confident and beautiful through imagery and authentically tell your story for generations to come. I am blessed and thankful that God has given me this opportunity to photograph wonderful people around the world and I would be honored to be a part of documenting your journey through motherhood.

I also offer my fine art film photography as one of a kind wax infused photographs which are encapsulated with a mixture of hot beeswax and tree sap and enhanced with oil paint. This process, known as encaustic, is one of the oldest forms of painting and preserving imagery.

Kayla is in The Knot Hall of Fame, winner in PDN’s TopKnots and nominated as an emerging film photographer by Belle Lumiere. Her work has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Brides, The Huffington Post, Buzzfeed and many more.
